In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make Spaghetti with Homemade Italian Sauce. I used linguine with a homemade tomato sauce, flavored with garlic, green pepper, onions, and a quintet of herbs. Scrumptious! Ingredients: 8 oz. uncooked spaghetti (I used linguine; you may use the pasta of your choice.) 1 teaspoon salt for the spaghetti 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil 1 medium onion, finely chopped 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped (fine to medium chop) 2 cloves garlic, minced 12 to 15 Roma tomatoes, peeled and chopped (I used 15, because they were small; you may want to adjust the amount if you have larger tomatoes. You may also use other varieties of tomatoes. Note: I have a Quick Tip on peeling tomatoes.) 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped (For all of the herbs, you may substitute dried herbs; just use 1/3 of the amount.) 2 tablespoons fresh basil, finely chopped 1 tablespoon fresh oregano, finely chopped 1 tablespoon fresh tarragon, finely chopped 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped 1 teaspoon salt for the sauce ¾ cup shredded Parmesan cheese (optional) In a large, deep skillet, sauté 1 chopped onion, 1 chopped green pepper, and 2 chopped cloves of garlic in 2 tablespoons olive oil, until clear and tender. Add 15 peeled and chopped Roma tomatoes, along with 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil, 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano, 1 tablespoon chopped fresh tarragon, 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary, and 1 …

In this video, Betty shows you the rest of her visit to Cumberland Falls State Park in search of a moonbow. This video includes the showing of our accomodations and lunch and dinner at the Riverview Restaurant at the park. For lunch, I ordered a country ham and Swiss cheese sandwich with French fries (with iced tea to drink!), and Rick ordered a fried catfish sandwich with fries (with a soft drink). The meal was delicious, and we skipped the luscious desserts, which were Derby Pie, Fruit Cobbler, Sugar-Free Apple Pie, Chess Pie, Kentucky Silk Pie, and Meringue-Topped Banana Pudding. All of the foods are Kentucky-style food, and I have actually made all of them in bettyskitchen. I might make a variation of one of the desserts. For dinner, Rick ordered the food bar, and he had fried chicken, fried frog legs, coleslaw, potato salad, mashed potatoes with cream gravy, carrots, corn, country-style ribs, pasta salad, and blueberry pie. I ordered their hot brown sandwich. I have made the majority of these items in bettyskitchen, but I do plan to post country-style ribs soon, preceeded by my own barbecue sauce. I hope you will watch for that! After dinner, we set up our photographic equipment and waited to see if a moonbow would appear. Thanks for you interest in our little trip! –Betty ♥

Bring a football maybe a kite and everyone gets a chance to enjoy the outdoors and each other for an afternoon. Hi I’m Adrien Sharp for the Kraft Kitchens here with some great ideas for what to serve and how to pack your next picnic. Let’s start with the food. Sandwiches are the original here when it comes to food that travels but just because they’re portable does not mean they have to be predictable. With just a few simple steps you can create your own masterpiece. This is the Kickn’ Chicken Wrap. Perfect for eating outdoors. The kick comes from the chipotle flavored mayo and the jalapeño American cheese. All you need to do is spread your mayo on the bottom, add the cheese, next with the chicken, the lettuce and then the celery. That’s all there is to it! This ones the the Tuscan Club on a ciabatta roll. It’s made with shaved oven turkey breast bacon lettuce tomato and here comes the Tuscan part: sun dried tomato and basil cream cheese on the top half of the ciabatta and some Italian dressing on the bottom half.
